Volunteering Opportunities
Our logo, opposite, was designed by a year 3 student from Danes Hill School. The logo competition was one of our very first events and the prize was awarded at our launch event, Oxshott Net Zero Village Day in April 2023

Gardening
We are partnering with St Andrew's Church to help tidy the garden. There is a long-term plan for the garden to gradually become more wildlife friendly and sustainable. Come along to join in and to meet fellow Oxshott gardeners. Children welcome!
Donation collection
Stripey Stork will be receiving donations at our next repair cafe on 8th June between 2.00 and 4.30pm at Danes Hill School. See below the range of school equipment and clothing they are collecting:
With your help, we can provide:
- Filled school bags, containing water bottles and age-appropriate stationery (including that all important exam pencil case and maths set for older children).
- School Uniform and PE Kit (non-branded / non-logo only).
- School Shoes and PE Trainers
We also collect coats, lunchboxes, period products, forest school waterproofs, wellies and more.

Free energy survey and advice
Following training with Zero Carbon Guildford, we can survey your property using an infra-red camera to see where it is losing heat. Using specialised software, a report is then produced for your house with recommendations for how to insulate it better. We do not do any work ourselves but we can offer advice, inform you about any grants which you may be eligible for and we even have a limited number of quick giveaways such as draught-proof letterbox covers!

Workshops
We have workshops for adults and children which we can come and run for your group to see how you could implement Take the JUMP in your setting. Or if you would prefer a talk or something else, just let us know and we'll put it together for you.

Plastic Free Oxshott
We are working towards becoming a Plastic Free Community in Oxshott. Please get in touch if you would like to help us with this exciting initiative.
Volunteer repairers and welcomers
We need lots of volunteers to run the repair cafe with Danes Hill School. If you have practical repair skills; admin skills or you could offer a friendly welcome to people visiting the cafe, please get in touch!
Sustainable gardens
We are working together with local groups, such as St Andrew's Church, on a variety of sustainable gardening events. Come along and get involved.

Take the JUMP events
If you have an idea for an event which would fit in with the 6 shifts for Take the JUMP, we would love to work with you on it.
We will be running events from time to time to fit with the shifts and will need volunteers to help make these happen. If you would like to be involved with these on an ad hoc basis, please get in touch.
